The JSP EVO 2 hard hat, explained

The EVO 2 is JSP’s workhorse safety helmet and a direct descendant of the MK2 and MK3 helmets that JSP first launched in the 1970s. It pairs a tough, UV stabilised HDPE shell with a 6 point polyethylene harness and JSP’s OneTouch slip ratchet, giving dependable top level protection at a price that makes sense when you are kitting out a full crew.

The mid peak profile keeps your field of view clear when looking up, and the universal accessory slots let you clip on JSP visors and ear defenders without compromising fit. It is the helmet you will see on construction sites, civil engineering projects, manufacturing plants and pharma campuses right across Munster.

Local branding

Embossed logos, done here in Limerick. The premium finish.

Most suppliers send helmets away to be branded or simply apply a sticker that lifts and fades within months. We emboss your logo onto the EVO 2 shell ourselves, at our facility on the Dock Road in Limerick. The result is a crisp, raised mark that looks and feels like part of the helmet, gives your crews a professional, unified look and makes your people instantly identifiable on a busy site.

Because the work happens in house, you deal with one team from artwork to delivery, with no third party queue and no surprises. It sits naturally alongside the rest of our decoration work, so your helmets can match your printed hi vis vests, embroidered softshells and polos.

Embossed vs sticker vs nothing

A sticker is a short term fix. A plain helmet tells nobody who you are. An embossed logo is durable, looks premium on client visits and site photography, and helps with site security by making your own crews easy to spot.

EVO 2 vented vs non vented: which do you need?

Both versions share the same shell, harness and ratchet. The difference is airflow versus electrical protection, so choose based on the hazards on your site.

EVO 2 colours and site colour coding

Ireland has no single legal hard hat colour code, but most sites follow a familiar convention so roles can be spotted at a glance. Always follow your own site rules or main contractor’s requirements.

White: managers, engineers, supervisors
Yellow: general operatives
Blue: visitors, technical staff
Orange: slingers, signallers, traffic marshals
Red: fire marshals
Black: client or senior staff on some sites

Colour availability varies by version and supplier stock. Tell us your mix and we will confirm what can be supplied and embossed.

EVO 2, EVO 3 or EVOLite?

EVO 2 is the dependable, economical choice for most crews, with a slip ratchet and polyethylene harness.

EVO 3 steps up with a wheel ratchet for finer adjustment and a more comfortable textile harness. A good choice if your main contractor specifies it.

EVOLite is the lightweight option for long shifts and work at height.

Every model can be embossed with your logo. Not sure which fits your site? Ask our team and we will recommend the right helmet for the job. We can also quote equivalent helmets from Portwest and SIR Safety if you are comparing options.

Complete the kit

Visors and ear defenders

The EVO 2 universal slots accept JSP helmet mounted visors and ear defenders, so you can build the right protection for each task.

Chin straps and sweatbands

Add elasticated chin straps for work at height or in wind, and replacement sweatbands to keep helmets comfortable and hygienic.

Branded hi vis to match

Pair embossed helmets with printed hi vis vests and embroidered jackets from Portwest and SIR Safety for a fully branded crew.

JSP EVO 2 frequently asked questions

Is the JSP EVO 2 certified to EN 397?

Yes. Every EVO 2 helmet conforms to EN 397, the European standard for industrial safety helmets. The non vented version also meets EN 50365 Class 0 for electrical insulation and the optional molten metal requirement.

Can you put our company logo on JSP EVO 2 helmets?

Yes. We emboss logos onto EVO 2 helmets at our own facility in Limerick. Embossing gives a raised, premium finish that lasts far longer than a sticker and looks part of the helmet.

Does embossing a logo affect the helmet’s certification?

Our embossing is applied to the outer surface of the shell and does not involve drilling, cutting or altering the helmet’s structure, harness or ratchet. If your site has specific rules on helmet marking, let us know and we will work to them.

What is the difference between the vented and non vented EVO 2?

The vented EVO 2 has side and rear vents for airflow and comfort. The non vented version has a sealed shell, which allows it to offer electrical insulation and molten metal protection. Choose non vented for any electrical or hot metal work.

What is the difference between the JSP EVO 2 and EVO 3?

The EVO 2 uses a OneTouch slip ratchet and a polyethylene harness, making it the more economical choice. The EVO 3 adds a wheel ratchet and a textile harness for finer adjustment and extra comfort. We supply and emboss both.

What accessories fit the EVO 2?

The EVO 2 has universal accessory slots that accept JSP helmet mounted visors and ear defenders. Chin straps and replacement sweatbands are also available.

How long does a JSP EVO 2 helmet last?

Lifespan depends on use, storage and exposure to sunlight. Check the date of manufacture moulded inside the shell, follow JSP’s user instructions, and replace any helmet that has taken an impact or shows cracks, chalking or damage.

Do you deliver branded helmets nationwide?

Yes. We are based in Limerick and deliver branded helmets and workwear to sites and offices across Ireland. Get in touch with your quantities and logo for a quote.
